Sold-out Denver Public Schools Foundation Achieve Gala on April 12
Raises Over $925,000 for Denver Public Schools

DENVER, APRIL 15, 2011 – The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Foundation raised more than $925,000 for Denver Public Schools at its annual Achieve Gala on Tuesday, April 12. Now in its ninth year, the event drew a sold-out crowd of 1,300 people in support of DPS.

The annual Achieve Gala, presented by UMB, was both a celebration of Denver Public Schools and a fundraiser to support Denver’s students, teachers, and classrooms.

The 2011 event, chaired by Cille and Ron Williams, featured the Archuleta Elementary School Choir, Denver School of the Arts Department of Dance & Movement, Manual High School Choir, and the Montbello High School Drum Line. The evening’s program included remarks from Governor John Hickenlooper, Mayor Guillermo “Bill” Vidal, and Superintendent Tom Boasberg. Two DPS high school seniors – Musu Sirleaf from Montbello High School and Tyler Quintana from Denver Center for International Studies – delivered the keynote address.
